Detailed Description for Fiberglass Windows

Fiberglass has been around for dozens of years and is largely well known for its use as a home insulator. Manufactured from natural materials such as sand and glass from old windows or bottles, this synthetic material has gained popularity in recent years for its energy saving properties making it an ideal choice for producing windows. To form a fiberglass window materials are melted together and spun apart creating small, thin strands of glass, or what we call fiberglass. Once pulled apart, these strands of glass settle back together forming a wool-like glass component.

BENEFITS:

There’s no denying that fiberglass windows offer exceptional energy efficiency. The material has a low thermal conductivity rate, which means heat is blocked from your home during the summer and locked in during winter. (Can you say lower energy bills!) These windows also have a high R-value, or R-factor, rating – used to indicate thermal resistance.

When it comes to durability, fiberglass will always be ahead of the competition. Not only does the material possess a resistance to bowing – making for a long life span – it also requires no additional fillers, which means your windows will maintain their stiffness for many years to come. Additionally, you’ll no longer have to worry about frequent painting, priming or staining because fiberglass windows retain color for longer periods of time than most traditional window options.
