Bopp Film

BOPP is an abbreviation for Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene film which is a rugged thermoplastic polymer. These films are commonly used for applications which require moisture resistance, optical clarity and high tensile strength which makes it ideal for packaging, labelling and graphics. These have a length of 200mtr-7000mtr and above having dimensions of 12-20 or so in 'microns'. Bopp films do have compound pressure in the range of 90-130 in degree Celsius. Are available in various colours.

Detailed Description for Bopp Film

Polypropylene films are formed by pouring, blow moulding or biaxial stretching from polypropylene raisin. These films require high and precise technique and high performance of components apart from thinning the thickness of film, high dielectric strength, high winding resistance and good uniformity of thickness.

As per the different production processes, the PP films are categorised into four categories, viz. MPP, MRPP, RPP, RRPP among which MPP is further divided into 01, 02 and 03 models.

MPP: This is Corona Disposal Polypropylene film, commonly known as the base film.

MPP01: It is common film with heat resistance of 70 degree Celsius to 85 degree         Celsius. Longitudinal heat shrinkage is less than or equal to 5mm.

MPP02: It is quasi high temperature base film with heat resistance as same as MPP01 (70-85). Longitudinal heat shrinkage is less than or equal to 3.6mm.

MPP03: It is high temperature base film with heat resistance of 105 degree Celsius. Longitudinal heat shrinkage is less than or equal to 3mm.

MRPP: This is a single sided rough corona disposal polypropylene film.

RPP: This one is a single sided rough polypropylene film.

RRPP: Double sided rough polypropylene film.

How is the packing of bopp films carried out?                                                                        

1.      These films are packed in vacuum plastic bag.

2.      Those bags are then marked with labels of types.

3.      Bags are packed in carton cases.

4.      Finally the cartons are wrapped in wooden cases.

It is a flexible, transparent or translucent material produced from PP polymer; a linear thermoplastic polypropylene resin. The low density of BOPP(0.91 vs 1.39 for PET) make it sometimes a cheaper alternative in packaging usage. However, the advantage of density is over-shadowed by the need for a thicker film when using BOPP as compared to PET for the same application. BOPP films, however could be co-extruded with other co-polymers into a multi layer into a single film encompassing the desired characteristics of each material.
